Overview:
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated civil engineer to take ownership of projects, lead design efforts, build client relationships, and grow professionally as both an engineer and a leader.
As a Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of civil engineering projects-from initial design through construction. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and clients, ensuring successful project delivery. This position is structured for professional growth and may lead to expanded responsibilities in business development and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage civil engineering design and coordination throughout all project phases.
- Develop design concepts, site layouts, engineering calculations, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet client expectations for performance, schedule, and budget.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by presenting design options, resolving technical challenges, and recommending best practices.
- Represent the firm in project meetings and maintain strong client communication.
Required Qualifications:
- 8-15 years of experience in site development and civil engineering.
- Proven project management experience.
- Strong technical background in site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management (including low-impact development), and erosion/sediment control planning.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, complete, and coordinated plan sets.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Familiarity with regional transportation and infrastructure standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Ohio.
- LEED Accredited Professional.
- Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC).
- Experience with municipal engineering, including roadway and utility improvements.
