Base Salary: $155,000 - $205,000 (DOE)

A leading General Contractor in the Pacific Northwest is seeking an experienced Senior Heavy Civil Project Manager to take ownership of large‑scale public works and infrastructure projects in the Portland region. This role is ideal for a proven PM ready to step into senior‑level responsibilities, influence project strategy, and mentor future leaders within the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle management of major heavy civil projects from preconstruction to closeout
  • Provide strategic oversight on budgets, schedules, subcontractor performance, and field operations
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, contract requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, inspectors, and major stakeholders
  • Drive cost controls, forecasting, procurement, contract negotiations, and change management
  • Support and mentor project engineers, assistant PMs, and field teams
  • Participate in high-level planning, risk mitigation, and dispute resolution

Experience Needed

  • 10-20+ years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction (transportation, earthwork, utilities, structures, water/wastewater, etc.)
  • Extensive experience managing large projects $20M-$200M+
  • Deep understanding of civil construction means & methods, scheduling, cost control, and claims
  • Strong track record of client management and successful public agency partnerships
  • Experience leading teams and developing junior staff
  • Proficiency with P6, HCSS, Procore, Bluebeam, and related project delivery platforms

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field highly preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to make strategic decisions and resolve complex project challenges
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
