Senior Project Engineer - Facilities & Instrumentation
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Project Engineer to oversee facility monitoring, instrument calibration, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated technical environment. This role supports operational excellence by ensuring critical systems function reliably and meet compliance standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in environmental controls, maintenance scheduling, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
Alarm Monitoring & Resolution

Respond to facility alarms related to differential pressure, temperature, humidity, and other environmental parameters
Investigate root causes, coordinate corrective actions, and confirm resolution
Maintain detailed records of alarm events and response actions

Instrument Calibration & Maintenance

Oversee calibration schedules and preventive maintenance for facility instruments using a CMMS platform
Coordinate service activities with internal teams and external vendors
Ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as GMP and ISO

Process Optimization

Identify recurring issues and inefficiencies in alarm response and equipment maintenance
Recommend and implement improvements to systems, workflows, and documentation
Contribute to the development of SOPs and training resources

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve facility-related challenges
Support audits and inspections by maintaining accurate documentation and compliance readiness


Qualifications
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities monitoring, equipment maintenance, or calibration within regulated industries such as biotech, pharma, healthcare, or manufacturing
Familiarity with GMP, ISO, or similar compliance frameworks
Experience with CMMS platforms (e.g., Blue Mountain or equivalent)

Technical Expertise

Strong understanding of HVAC systems and environmental monitoring technologies
Proficient in calibration and preventive maintenance practices
Skilled in troubleshooting facility alarms and equipment issues
Competent in documenting technical actions in compliance with quality standards

Analytical & Problem-Solving

Ability to analyze trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
Detail-oriented with the ability to interpret sensor data and technical documentation

Communication & Teamwork

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to collaborate across departments and with external service providers

Continuous Improvement

Experience leading or contributing to process improvement initiatives
Capable of updating SOPs and training materials to reflect best practices


Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range (US)
$85,000 - $131,685 USD
Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and market conditions.
