Position Overview
A growing civil engineering team in Dallas is seeking a Roadway Project Engineer (PE) to support and lead transportation design projects across North Texas. The ideal candidate has at least five years of progressive roadway design experience-specifically in widening projects, intersection improvements, and resurfacing/rehabilitation-and is comfortable taking ownership of design tasks, coordination, and quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the design of roadway widening, intersection improvements, and pavement resurfacing/rehabilitation projects for municipal and state transportation clients.
- Develop plans, profiles, typical sections, traffic control plans, and quantities.
- Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, specifications, and design calculations.
- Coordinate with internal disciplines (traffic, drainage, structures, survey, utilities) to deliver integrated design packages.
- Perform QA/QC on roadway design deliverables and ensure compliance with TxDOT standards and local municipal requirements.
- Assist in project scheduling, task management, and progress tracking.
- Communicate directly with clients, subconsultants, and stakeholders as needed.
- Support proposal development, level‑of‑effort estimates, and technical write‑ups.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- 5+ years of roadway design experience, including:
- Roadway widening
- Intersection improvements
- Resurfacing/rehabilitation projects
- Strong proficiency with MicroStation/GEOPAK or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- Familiarity with TxDOT Roadway Design Manual, standard sheets, and plan development processes.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering TxDOT PS&E packages.
- Knowledge of pavement design, ADA compliance, utility coordination, and traffic control staging.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or designers.
