Snr Civil Construction Estimator
Company Overview:
One of our longstanding clients, a well established heavy civil contractor in Ohio, is looking to grow their estimating team with multiple estimators (entry - snr level). They specialise in delivering earthwork, underground utilities, and infrastructure projects for public and private clients. The company is known across Ohio & Michigan for their strong work ethic, technical capability, and delivering quality work.
Position Summary:
Our client is seeking experienced Estimators to support heavy civil bids from early takeoff through final submission. This role is focused primarily on earthwork and site civil estimating and requires hands on experience with AGTEK. The position works closely with senior estimating leadership and supports smooth handoff to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil projects
- Perform earthwork takeoffs using AGTEK as a primary estimating tool
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to fully understand scope
- Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Support bid reviews, value engineering, and estimate handoffs
- Coordinate with estimating, project management, and field teams as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in civil or sitework estimating
- Strong earthwork, utilities and/or highway/roadway background with required AGTEK experience
- Familiarity with civil drawings, grading, and underground utilities
- Experience with HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Excel preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet bid deadlines
- Clear communication and ability to work within a team environment
