We are working with a well established heavy civil contractor based in Minnesota with operations across the Midwest. The company specialises in earthwork, underground utilities, demolition, and specialty civil construction for public and private sector clients. They are known for strong safety standards, disciplined field operations, and consistent project delivery.

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced Superintendent to manage day to day field operations on heavy civil construction projects. This role is responsible for leading crews, coordinating site activities, and ensuring projects are built safely, on schedule, and to spec. Projects typically range from $1M to $10M+, depending on scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall field leadership for assigned projects
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily construction activities
  • Supervise foremen, crews, subcontractors, and equipment
  • Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with company safety policies
  • Review project plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Coordinate with project managers, owners, engineers, and inspectors
  • Track production, schedule adherence, and manpower needs
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively
  • Maintain site documentation including daily reports and progress updates
  • Ensure quality standards are met throughout construction

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on heavy civil or sitework projects
  • Strong working knowledge of earthwork, underground utilities, and demolition
  • Proven ability to lead crews and manage complex job sites
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and production planning
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as required
