Survey Crew Chief
We are working with a client who is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field survey operations for a variety of projects in the Denver area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong technical skills and experience in boundary, topographic, and construction surveys. The Survey Crew Chief will be responsible for managing field crews, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining safety and quality standards on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise field survey crews on boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
- Coordinate daily assignments with project managers and ensure crews understand project scope and objectives.
- Operate and maintain survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
- Perform site calibrations, establish control points, and ensure data integrity.
- Interpret construction plans, plats, and legal descriptions.
- Maintain accurate field notes, sketches, and daily reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards.
- Train and mentor junior crew members in field procedures and equipment use.
Qualifications:
- 4-10 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or in a similar leadership role.
- Proficiency with Trimble or Topcon GPS systems and total stations.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, or similar software.
- Strong understanding of construction staking, boundary analysis, and topographic mapping.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
