Survey Technician
We are working with a client who is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Survey Technician to join our growing team in Denver. This role is essential in supporting both field and office operations for a wide range of land surveying projects, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction layout surveys. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, a strong work ethic, and a collaborative spirit to help deliver high-quality survey data and mapping products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of field surveys using GPS, total stations, levels, and other survey instruments.
- Collect, process, and verify field data for accuracy and completeness.
- Draft survey maps, plats, and legal descriptions using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other CAD software.
- Maintain organized and accurate field notes, sketches, and digital records.
- Collaborate with project managers, licensed surveyors, and engineers to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
- Perform calculations and data analysis to support boundary determinations and construction staking.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and company standards.
- Maintain and calibrate survey equipment and ensure proper care and storage.
- Travel to various job sites in the Denver metro area and occasionally to remote locations as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in land surveying or geospatial data collection.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and/or Leica software.
- Familiarity with field data collection methods and equipment.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Survey Technician (CST) Level I or II.
- Experience with drone surveying, LiDAR, or GIS integration.
- Knowledge of Colorado land use, zoning, and subdivision regulations.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
