Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer

Our client is seeking a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to join their Baltimore office, supporting the planning, design, and delivery of water distribution and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on pipeline systems, condition assessment, and broader water network improvements.
Key responsibilities
- Design water distribution systems including pipelines, pumping stations, treatment facilities, and storage assets
- Support and conduct pipeline condition assessments to help prioritize rehabilitation and replacement programs
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Perform site assessments and feasibility studies
- Maintain accurate documentation across calculations, reports, and correspondence
- Support permitting efforts and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct utility research and field investigations as needed
- Provide construction phase services including submittal reviews, RFIs, shop drawings, and change orders
- Coordinate with clients, utility owners, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Contribute to community outreach efforts tied to infrastructure projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
- 5 plus years of experience in water distribution design and pipeline projects
- Professional Engineer license in Maryland or ability to obtain within 1 to 2 years
- Strong understanding of hydraulics
- Experience with WaterCAD or WaterGEMS is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organized with strong documentation and presentation ability
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment
