We are seeking an experienced industrial automation sales professional with a proven track record of exceeding a $4M+ annual quota, selling complex solutions across process control, engineering services, and digital transformation into manufacturing, water/wastewater, and critical infrastructure environments.
You will operate comfortably at both executive and technical levels engaging C-suite stakeholders on strategic business outcomes, while also working closely with engineering and operations teams on detailed system design, device integration, and implementation.
Your experience will include selling customized automation, process control, MES, and AI-enabled solutions. You will have led full lifecycle sales processes from identifying inefficiencies on plant floors, to solution design, deal closure, and account expansion through upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
You are highly motivated, resilient, and results-driven understanding that success in this role requires both discipline and persistence.
You will also bring strong technical credibility, with hands-on or prior experience in industrial automation environments.

Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 7+ years of experience exceeding quota in complex automation, controls, or engineering solution sales
- Strong communication, consulting, and analytical skills
- Ability to travel approximately 50%
- Ability to work remotely within the Midwest (Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, or Illinois preferred)
Required Technical Background:
- MUST have prior hands-on or direct industry experience working for a system integrator OR within industrial automation environments in one or more of the following industries:
- Life Sciences / Pharmaceuticals
- Food & Beverage / CPG
- Packaging
- Data Centers / Critical Infrastructure
- Strong technical understanding of:
- PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
- HMI / SCADA systems
- DCS systems
- Industrial networking / OT environments
Regional Sales Manager Responsibilities
- Prospecting & Opportunity Creation: Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities, establishing trusted relationships with key decision-makers
- Consultative Selling: Uncover client challenges and position tailored automation and digital solutions that deliver measurable value
- Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a strong, qualified pipeline with accurate forecasting
- Market Intelligence & Networking: Stay ahead of industry trends and maintain an active presence within automation and controls networks
- Team Selling: Lead cross-functional sales efforts, leveraging engineering and delivery teams to win business
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure seamless transition from sales to delivery while partnering with internal teams on strategy and execution
