About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Building Automation Technician with a strong command of Tridium Niagara to join our growing Illinois-based team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role working on some of the most technically demanding projects in the market-including large commercial buildings, hospitals, and mission-critical data centers.
You'll be trusted to take systems from the ground up-installing, programming, troubleshooting, and delivering fully functional BAS solutions that perform reliably in real-world, high-stakes environments. What You'll Be Doing
- Program Tridium Niagara systems from scratch, including controllers, networks, and integration
- Install and commission Building Automation Systems on site
- Develop and customize graphics, dashboards, and user interfaces within Niagara
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across live systems
- Integrate third-party devices and systems using BACnet, Modbus, LON, and other protocols
- Collaborate closely with design engineers, project managers, and commissioning teams
- Support system start-ups, testing, commissioning, and client handover
- Provide technical support and optimizations for existing installations
- Ensure quality, performance, and compliance with project specifications and standards
What We're Looking For
Required Experience & Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Building Automation / Controls Technician
- Strong proficiency with Tridium Niagara (N4), including:
- Programming from scratch
- System architecture and integration
- Graphics development
- Proven ability to install, commission, and troubleshoot BAS systems
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
- Experience working on large commercial, healthcare, or data center projects
- Comfortable working independently in the field while collaborating with internal teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Nice-to-Have (Not Required)
- Niagara certification(s)
- Experience with enterprise systems and networking
- Exposure to analytics, fault detection, or energy management platforms
