CHICAGO | Senior Urban Planner
An Illinois-based planning and design firm with a strong reputation for technical excellence and a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects is seeking a Senior Urban Planner to join their Chicago office. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex urban planning projects from concept through implementation.
- Conduct land use planning, zoning analysis, and community engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, public agencies, and private clients.
- Prepare and present reports, plans, and visual materials for stakeholders and public forums.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or related field.
- 7-12 years of professional experience in urban planning or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of zoning, land use regulations, and urban design principles.
- Proficiency in GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and planning tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- AICP certification preferred.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $90,000 - $140,000, commensurate with experience.
