Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on land use, zoning, transportation, housing, and environmental factors to support planning decisions
- Develop and implement comprehensive plans, neighborhood plans, and zoning ordinances to promote sustainable urban development
- Collaborate with government agencies, developers, architects, and community stakeholders to ensure planning efforts align with public needs and regulatory standards
- Prepare reports, maps, presentations, and visual materials to effectively communicate planning proposals
- Review development proposals and site plans for compliance with zoning regulations, design standards, and community objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in urban or transportation planning
- AICP certification preferred
- Familiarity with municipal systems including utilities, stormwater management, water distribution, and wastewater infrastructure
- Ability to interpret and apply land development codes and subdivision regulations in collaboration with local government staff
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
