A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Project Manager to support its growing operations across Northern Virginia. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of commercial, data center, industrial, transportation, and public infrastructure projects while serving as a key liaison between clients, contractors, and technical teams.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing CMT projects, coordinating field staff, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects from proposal through completion.
- Coordinate field technicians, inspectors, and laboratory personnel.
- Review testing and inspection reports for accuracy and compliance.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, invoicing, and profitability.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business.
- Support business development efforts and identify opportunities with existing clients.
- Ensure compliance with ASTM, ACI, ICC, and project-specific requirements.
- Mentor and train junior technicians and inspectors.
- Conduct periodic site visits throughout Northern Virginia.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Construction Materials Testing, Special Inspections, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience managing projects, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
- Strong understanding of soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and structural steel testing and inspection services.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I
- ICC Special Inspector Certifications
- NICET Construction Materials Testing
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Nuclear Gauge Certification
