Title: Senior Estimator
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 (DOE)
A leading contractor specializing in large‑scale utility and heavy civil projects is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Estimator to support a strong pipeline of work across California and the Western region. This role is ideal for an experienced estimator who wants a high level of autonomy, direct involvement in bid strategy, and the ability to influence internal processes within a well‑established, growing organization.
Role Overview
The Senior Estimator will take ownership of developing full project estimates for major civil and utility infrastructure work. Responsibilities include interpreting project documents, performing detailed takeoffs, building production‑based cost models, sourcing materials and subcontractor pricing, and preparing comprehensive proposal packages. This individual will partner closely with leadership on bid approach, risk assessment, and project selection.
What You Bring
- 7-15+ years of estimating experience in civil, heavy civil, or utility construction
* Strong background in self‑perform scopes such as foundations, drilling, excavation, grading, trenching, duct banks, access roads, and site work
* Ability to independently estimate projects of $10M+
* Proficiency with major estimating tools (HCSS, HeavyBid, Bluebeam, or equivalents)
* Solid understanding of production rates, constructability, and field operations
* Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
