Position Overview

The Field PLC Engineer supports the deployment, commissioning, and troubleshooting of PLC-based control systems for large-scale data center facilities. This role is highly field-focused and client-facing, working hands-on with HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems to ensure reliable system performance during critical project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission, start up, and support PLC control systems at client sites
  • Program, test, and troubleshoot Rockwell / Studio 5000 PLC systems
  • Support static and dynamic commissioning of HVAC and central plant systems
  • Diagnose and resolve logic, hardware, and communication issues in live environments
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and engineering teams during deployment
  • Implement site-specific PLC modifications and control strategy updates
  • Document field changes and support system handover to operations teams

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years' PLC engineering experience with strong field commissioning background
  • Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation / Studio 5000
  • Proven commissioning experience with chillers, boilers, or central plants
  • Experience with redundant PLC architectures
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in fast-paced, mission-critical environments
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-60%
