Geotechnical Project Engineer

We're looking for a driven Geotechnical / Field Engineer to support ground improvement and specialty foundation projects across the country.


What You'll Do

As a key member of our operations and engineering team, you will:

Safety, Quality & Field Operations

  • Champion and enforce company, OSHA, MSHA, and site‑specific safety standards.
  • Execute and oversee field quality-control tests and maintain accurate production records.
  • Conduct basic field surveys and resolve geometric or layout‑related issues.
  • Interpret plans and resolve drawing conflicts or discrepancies through research and coordination.
  • Prepare RFIs and support change order documentation.

Engineering & Technical Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical and structural analyses in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Ensure all installations comply with company quality-control standards and project specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of geotechnical designs, cost estimates, proposals, and solution strategies.

Client Interaction & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, and project partners.
  • Support the sales process-from technical communication to contract negotiation.
  • Identify new business opportunities and contribute to territory growth.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Deliver technical presentations and support educational outreach.

What We're Looking For

Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of fundamental geotechnical design principles.
  • Strong observational skills with a detail‑oriented, diligent mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • Solid organizational skills and comfort managing documentation and project records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with geotechnical construction, surveying, building materials, or structural/geotechnical design is a plus.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% overnight.
