The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to help lead and grow our geotechnical practice. This is a high-impact leadership role suited for an engineer who enjoys both technical depth and people/project leadership, and who wants a clear path toward practice leadership and senior management.

The successful candidate will oversee major geotechnical projects, mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and contribute directly to business development and operational strategy.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex geotechnical engineering projects from proposal through delivery
  • Serve as a technical authority on:
    • Subsurface investigations
    • Foundation design (shallow & deep)
    • Earth retention systems
    • Pavement design and site development support
  • Review and stamp geotechnical reports (as applicable)
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
    • Developers
    • Contractors
    • Architects
    • Public and private clients
  • Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers
  • Support business development efforts, including proposals, client meetings, and strategic pursuits
  • Collaborate with other service lines to deliver fully integrated project solutions
  • Contribute to staffing, workload planning, and long-term practice growth

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
  • Demonstrated success managing projects, teams, and client relationships
  • Strong writing, communication, and technical leadership skills
  • Experience working in a consulting environment with commercial projects
