Senior Design Engineer (Geotechnical Design-Build)

If you're a PE with geotechnical design-build experience and want more than just calculations - this is a role where you'll own the design and influence how projects are won and delivered.
I'm working with a well-established geotechnical contractor with a strong footprint across Florida, specializing in design-build foundation and earth retention systems. Due to growth, they're looking to bring in a Senior Design Engineer to play a key role across both technical delivery and front-end project strategy.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading design-buildgeotechnical solutions, including:
- MSE / retaining walls
- Temporary shoring & excavation support
- Deep foundations (drilled shafts, driven piles, micropiles)
- Ground improvement systems
- Supporting estimating, proposals, and value engineering during pursuits
- Working closely with PMs and field teams to carry designs through construction
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design for foundation and earth retention systems
- Prepare calculations, drawings, and technical submittals
- Support estimating and VE exercises
- Collaborate with operations throughout project delivery
- Ensure compliance with FDOT standards and specifications

What They're Looking For
- 4+ years in geotechnical / foundation design-build
- Experience with:
- MSE walls & retaining systems
- Shored excavations
- Deep foundations
- Working knowledge of FDOT requirements
- PE license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Comfortable balancing design, commercial input, and collaboration
