Project Manager - Transportation Engineering
Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of transportation engineering projects. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of project execution, including scope, schedule, budget, team coordination, stakeholder communication, risk mitigation, and overall quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
- Develop and implement project management plans, including quality control processes
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to ensure efficient project execution
- Create, maintain, and track project schedules and financial performance
- Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare and manage task orders, change orders, and additional service requests
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication
- Provide regular project updates, reports, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Review invoices and monitor project financials to ensure profitability
- Lead project meetings and contribute to internal financial and operational reviews
- Support business development efforts, including go/no-go decisions, proposal development, and client interviews
- Mentor and lead project team members, providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure delivery of high-quality technical work across all project phases
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 10+ years of relevant experience in transportation or related infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong presentation and leadership abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or CAPM certification
- Experience working with local, county, or state agencies (TxDOT experience is a plus)
- Familiarity with multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3)
- Experience leading large, cross-functional project teams
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based (approximately 95%)
- Occasional field work required, with exposure to varying weather conditions
- May involve light physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs
