About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join a leading mechanical contracting team in Louisville. This position plays a critical role in preparing accurate cost estimates for HVAC, sheet metal, and fabrication projects ranging from $1M to $15M. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure competitive and profitable bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed proposals and bid packages for mechanical construction projects.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to validate scope and pricing.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors for updated pricing and availability.
- Track and manage multiple projects simultaneously (typically 1-3 active projects).
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and client discussions as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in mechanical estimating within HVAC, sheet metal, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
- Background in commercial or industrial mechanical projects.
- Familiarity with automated controls and integrated systems.
