They are a well-established, employee-owned engineering and consulting firm with a strong presence across Michigan and a reputation for delivering practical, community-focused solutions. They operate as a multidisciplinary partner to public and private sector clients, bringing together expertise across civil engineering, surveying, planning, landscape architecture, transportation, traffic, municipal, environmental, and construction engineering services.

Their land development team supports a broad mix of projects, including commercial, retail, office, residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and senior living developments, with in-house capabilities spanning site planning, utility design, grading, paving, stormwater management, permitting, feasibility studies, traffic-related design input, and sustainable site strategies.

They also maintain multiple offices across Michigan, including Detroit and Grand Rapids, giving them strong regional coverage and local market visibility.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will help drive work across a range of active and emerging sectors, with particular relevance to education, healthcare, assisted living, commercial, retail, and office development. • Support business development efforts by strengthening existing client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to proposals, presentations, and interviews
  • Help plan team workload, forecast upcoming needs, and maintain a delivery structure that supports both budget and programme commitments
  • Represent them externally through networking, industry events, public meetings, and broader community engagement
  • Mentor, develop, and support junior team members while also contributing to hiring and team growth where needed
  • Contribute technical oversight on core land development elements such as site planning, utility design, grading, paving, stormwater systems, permitting, and related approval processes

  • Strong background in managing multidisciplinary project teams and delivering civil/site development projects with a high degree of independence
  • Experience building client relationships, pursuing new work, and supporting proposals or presentations would be a significant advantage
  • Working knowledge of land development design and permitting considerations, including agency coordination, municipal requirements, and site approval processes
  • Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage both technical and commercial priorities
