Low Voltage Telecommunication, Security and AV Consultant
The successful candidate will provide structured cabling and pathway design, along with security system and audio-visual systems design, for a variety of building types. This individual will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary project team throughout all project phases, including proposals, planning, engineering and design, construction, and close-out. Strong skills in planning, organization, system engineering/design, and communication are essential.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Minimum of two years of experience designing facility and outside plant telecommunication systems and documenting these designs with drawings and narratives
- Working knowledge of applicable telecommunication codes and standards
Preferred Skills and Experience
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (or equivalent experience in systems installation or maintaining technical systems)
- Experience in design of access control, CCTV systems, and intrusion detection systems
- Experience in design of copper and fiber-optic structured cabling systems
- Experience designing audio/visual systems
- Experience in planning and design of secure facilities and developing/reviewing protective design standards
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for building design packages
- Ability to generate project-specific construction specifications using CSI-based templates
- Experience providing construction-phase services, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and performing field assessments
Preferred Certifications
- Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (BICSI)
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) for audio-visual systems design (Avixa)
- Experience estimating engineering effort for building design projects
