About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading North American owner, operator, and developer of renewable energy and energy storage assets. With a multi-gigawatt operating portfolio and a strong development pipeline, the company is an active participant in the energy transition, focused on delivering reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable power solutions.

Position Overview

Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will lead key corporate development and M&A initiatives. The position requires strong experience across power markets and asset or corporate-level transactions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and brings both strategic thinking and hands-on execution capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to identify and execute acquisition and divestiture opportunities aligned with strategic objectives
  • Source opportunities through market research, industry relationships, and conference participation
  • Evaluate targets through financial modeling, valuation analysis, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Develop investment theses, including analysis of market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and competitive positioning
  • Lead due diligence and integration efforts, coordinating internal stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Manage divestiture processes, including preparation of marketing materials, buyer outreach, and coordination with advisors
  • Negotiate transaction terms and support post-close integration planning
  • Mentor junior team members and support team development
  • Contribute to broader strategic and finance-related initiatives

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development with a focus on energy or power
  • Experience executing M&A transactions from sourcing through closing (integration experience is a plus)
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with exposure to power markets and energy assets
  • Understanding of renewable energy development and wholesale electricity markets preferred
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, lean environment with a high degree of ownership
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
