Design Engineer II - Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering

I'm partnering with a well-established, employee-owned engineering and construction organization that's looking to add a Design Engineer II to its growing mechanical engineering team in Columbus.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond traditional consulting and work directly alongside construction, VDC/BIM, and field teams to see projects come to life from concept through completion.
What You'll Be Doing
- Perform HVAC and mechanical engineering calculations, including load calculations, equipment sizing, and system analysis
- Develop preliminary system layouts and design concepts
- Support design-build and design-assist projects from planning through execution
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and industry standards
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Mentor and support junior engineers
What They're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3-5 years of experience with HVAC/mechanical building systems design
- PE license preferred
- Experience with construction drawings and engineering documentation
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
