Area Operations Manager
The Area Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Leading operations across multiple offices within a designated region
- Partnering with senior leadership to develop operational strategies, workforce plans, and long-term growth initiatives
- Establishing and implementing processes that improve efficiency, productivity, and overall business performance
- Overseeing project staffing, resource allocation, equipment utilization, and operational planning
- Ensuring QA/QC standards and compliance procedures are consistently followed across teams
- Reviewing financial performance, budgets, utilization rates, and operational metrics to drive informed decision-making
- Developing, mentoring, and retaining high-performing professional staff
- Supporting business development efforts and maintaining strong client relationships
- Serving as a key representative of the organization with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders
The Area Operations Manager should have the following qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience within surveying, engineering, geospatial services, or a related professional services environment
- Proven experience managing operations across multiple offices or business units
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Strong financial management experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and operational performance analysis
- Demonstrated success leading teams, developing staff, and building a positive operational culture
- Experience with contract negotiations, fee proposals, and project financial oversight
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels
