Preconstruction Manager
A fast‑growing data center developer is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager to support and lead the early phases of large‑scale, mission‑critical projects across Virginia. This role is fully on‑site and will play a key part in shaping how complex data center campuses are planned, costed, and delivered as the business continues its rapid expansion.
The firm is already recognised as a Top 100 data center developer in the US and is executing an ambitious growth strategy to move firmly into the Top 20 within the next 3-5 years. As a result, this position offers not just project responsibility, but genuine long‑term career progression alongside the growth of the platform.
In this role, you will take ownership of the full preconstruction lifecycle across multiple mission‑critical developments. This will include driving early planning, budgeting, scheduling, constructability reviews, and coordination with internal development teams, designers, contractors, and utility providers. You will be deeply involved from concept and feasibility through to GMP, ensuring cost certainty, risk mitigation, and alignment with aggressive delivery schedules typical of hyperscale and colocation data center projects.
The position requires someone who is confident operating on‑site every day, close to the work and the teams delivering it. You'll have real influence over how projects are shaped, how risks are managed, and how preconstruction processes evolve as the portfolio scales. Over time, there is a clear path to taking on broader leadership responsibility as the platform continues to expand.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preconstruction for mission‑critical or highly technical projects, ideally data centers or similarly complex infrastructure. You'll bring experience managing budgets, schedules, and early‑stage coordination in fast‑paced environments where power, phasing, and speed‑to‑market are critical. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work closely with development, construction, and external consultants is essential.
