About the Role
We are seeking a Project Engineer with a passion for sustainable design and civil engineering to join a forward-thinking consulting firm in Oakland, CA. This role focuses on site civil design for innovative projects across the country and internationally. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage tasks, and contribute to environmentally responsible solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare site grading, earthwork calculations, road design, drainage reports, and utility layouts.
- Assemble and review plan set packages, providing redlines for drafting teams.
- Exercise sound judgment on design decisions and apply standard engineering methods.
- Analyze reports, maps, and technical data to plan and design projects.
- Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and construction schedules.
- Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- 6+ years of experience in civil/site design and land development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and technical report writing.
- Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision.
- PE license or sustainability-related certifications preferred.
