Project Engineer
Location: Spokane, WA
Compensation: $85,000-$105,000 base salary (depending on experience)
A well-established general contractor with a strong presence in the Inland Northwest is seeking a Project Engineer to support ongoing construction projects in the Spokane area. This role is ideal for an earlyâ to midâcareer construction professional looking to build a strong foundation in project management while working closely with experienced Project Managers and field teams.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting dayâtoâday project operations, documentation, coordination, and cost control to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, and execution
- Assist with submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
- Track project costs, quantities, and budgets
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Review drawings, specifications, and contracts for scope clarification
- Attend project meetings and assist with meeting minutes and followâup items
- Help ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements
- Maintain accurate and organized project records from start to closeout
Experience Needed
- 1-4+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or a related role
- Exposure to commercial, civil, or industrial construction projects preferred
- Experience supporting project teams with documentation and coordination
- Familiarity with submittals, RFIs, and construction workflows
- Internship experience or field experience with a general contractor is a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastâpaced project environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with field and office teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with construction management software is a plus
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow into increased responsibility
