Remote Design Engineer - Data Center Controls
A small New York City-based controls contractor is seeking a Remote Design Engineer to support data‑center projects. The role centers on developing controls system designs, drawings, and documentation for large‑scale critical‑environment facilities.
- Produce control system drawings, sequences, network layouts, and submittal packages
- Support senior engineers with design revisions and coordination
- Review project specifications and create documentation aligned with client standards
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to clarify scope and resolve design issues
- Assist with submittals, RFIs, and updates throughout the project lifecycle
- Experience in BAS/controls design, electrical/mechanical drafting, or related engineering work
- Understanding of HVAC control sequences and data‑center environmental requirements
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
