What the Role Will Do

The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership and project management support for consulting and engineering services within the water and wastewater sector. This role combines hands‑on electrical and controls design with team leadership, client engagement, and full project lifecycle delivery.

The individual will lead multidisciplinary project teams, develop scopes of work and cost estimates, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to municipal clients. Responsibilities include supporting critical infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, wells, and related facilities, from planning and design through construction and commissioning.

Based in-or open to relocating to-the Tucson, AZ area, this individual is comfortable leading project teams, managing competing priorities, and driving projects to successful completion.

They communicate clearly and confidently, whether preparing client‑facing reports, facilitating technical discussions, or translating complex engineering concepts for non‑technical stakeholders. They enjoy mentoring others and contributing to the growth and development of the engineering team.

With a client‑focused mindset, this individual values long‑term relationships and is energized by contributing to business development efforts. Ideally, their background includes electrical design for water and wastewater facilities, power distribution systems, motor control centers, standby power, and instrumentation and controls, including PLC and SCADA integration. Their experience is grounded in real‑world collaboration with operators and contractors to ensure designs are practical to build, operate, and maintain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience on electrical engineering design and construction projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Arizona
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, depending on project needs

Preferred Experience

  • Municipal water and wastewater project experience
  • Consulting environment background
  • Instrumentation and Controls experience
  • Project management experience
