Our client is a well established architecture and design firm known for its collaborative environment and commitment to building lasting client relationships. With a diverse portfolio spanning education, historic renovation, multifamily, sports & recreation, community, and commercial projects, the firm continues to grow and is seeking a Senior Project Architect/Project Manager to lead its Overland Park office.

This is a unique leadership opportunity for an experienced architect who enjoys managing projects, mentoring teams, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing the office's project portfolio, driving project success, and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Architect/Project Manager will be responsible for leading and managing multiple architectural projects from inception through completion while providing day to day leadership for the Overland Park team. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of architectural projects through all phases.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and resources.
  • Oversee project documentation, quality control, and technical coordination.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and cultivate long-term client relationships.
  • Lead project meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Mentor and develop architects, designers, and project staff.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the Overland Park office's project operations.
  • Coordinate with firm leadership on project pursuits, business development, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Ensure projects align with client goals, design standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support a collaborative, team-oriented culture that reflects the firm's core values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Licensed Architect preferred.
  • 15+ years of professional architectural experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading project teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documentation, building systems, and project delivery methods.
  • Excellent communication, client management, and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and consultant coordination.
  • Proficiency in Revit and other industry-standard software.
