Senior Transportation Engineer- FULLY REMOTE
An innovative and expanding engineering organization is seeking a full-time Transportation Engineer to join its Transportation Design Team. About the Role
As a Transportation Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive engineering services for public infrastructure projects at both state and federal levels. This role encompasses a broad range of transportation initiatives-from roadway improvements and traffic operations to bridge engineering-ensuring that all projects prioritize safety, efficiency, and full compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting data analysis and preparing detailed technical reports.
- Designing roadway layouts and performing corridor safety studies.
- Developing traffic signal plans and creating maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) plans to ensure safe work zones.
- Performing traffic impact and operational analyses to optimize flow and reduce congestion.
- Contributing to highway, interchange, and intersection improvement projects.
- Participating in rail design and broader transportation infrastructure planning.
- Supporting bridge design and rehabilitation efforts, including structural evaluations and coordination with bridge specialists.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local design standards throughout all phases of work.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in highway, traffic, or bridge engineering.
- Strong understanding of design standards and guidelines, including MUTCD and AASHTO.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software tools such as:
- MicroStation
- AutoCAD
- BLUEBEAM
- SYNCHRO/SIMTRAFFIC
- OPENROADS
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
