Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000
About the Role
On behalf of my client, I am seeking a highly capable Transmission Line Engineer to join their growing team as our first full-time hire in this discipline. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact role with significant ownership and influence over design standards, project execution, and future team growth.
You will work alongside a group of highly experienced transmission engineers and a structural engineer who provide technical guidance and support, while independently leading detailed design and engineering decisions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and is confident taking projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of transmission line projects, including routing, structure selection, and foundation design coordination
- Perform detailed analysis and calculations related to line design, including loading, sag & tension, and structure configuration
- Develop construction packages, drawings, and technical specifications
- Review and validate designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and clients
- Provide technical input during project planning, execution, and troubleshooting phases
- Take ownership of project deliverables and ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- 6+ years of experience in transmission line engineering (9+ years preferred)
- Strong technical expertise in transmission line design and construction practices
- Ability to independently make engineering and design decisions
- Experience with industry software/tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or similar)
- Solid understanding of applicable codes and standards (NESC, ASCE, etc.)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress
