Transmission Line Engineering Supervisor

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Transmission Line Engineer Supervisor to lead a high‑performing engineering team responsible for the design, analysis, and delivery of overhead transmission line projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of transmission line engineers and designers.
  • Lead the design and engineering of high‑voltage overhead transmission lines (69kV-500kV).
  • Review, validate, and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical deliverables.
  • Manage project schedules, workloads, and quality control across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Oversee and perform modeling, routing, and structural analysis using PLS‑CADD, PLS‑Pole, and PLS‑Tower.
  • Collaborate with project managers, utilities, construction teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and applicable utility standards.
  • Provide technical leadership during project planning, field assessments, and construction support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of direct transmission line engineering experience, including overhead line design.
  • Proficiency in PLS‑CADD and related PLS software.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising or leading engineering teams (formal or informal).
  • Strong understanding of structure loading, conductor selection, foundation design, and line routing.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
  • EIT required; PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with EPC or utility‑side transmission projects.
  • Knowledge of environmental constraints, permitting, and construction considerations.
  • Familiarity with GIS tools, LiDAR processing, and geospatial integration.
