Our client, an employee-owned engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Water Resources Engineer with a focus on dams or stream restoration to join its growing team supporting projects across New York or New Hampshire and the wider New England region. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects including dam safety inspections, rehabilitation and removal, river restoration, and watershed resilience initiatives, with strong exposure to both technical design and client-facing responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for dam-related and river restoration projects
  • Support dam safety evaluations, breach analyses, and inundation mapping studies
  • Develop design plans, specifications, and construction documents for dam rehabilitation, removal, and stream restoration
  • Contribute to geomorphic assessments, channel design, and ecological restoration efforts
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering studies, and permit applications in accordance with local and federal regulations
  • Utilize tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and related modeling software to support design and analysis
  • Coordinate with project managers, regulatory agencies, and clients to ensure successful project delivery
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget expectations

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline, along with 5 to 25 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, particularly in dams, river engineering, or stream restoration. A Professional Engineer license is required, with the ability to obtain licensure in New Hampshire if not currently held. Strong experience in hydrology and hydraulics, familiarity with relevant modeling tools, and an understanding of New England regulatory processes are important for success in this role.

Our client offers the benefits of an employee-owned structure, providing staff with a direct stake in the success of the business, along with opportunities for career growth, project diversity, and long-term professional development within a collaborative and technically driven environment.
