A respected engineering consulting firm is seeking a Construction Engineering Inspector (CEI) to support roadway and infrastructure projects throughout the region. This role offers the opportunity to work directly on transportation and public infrastructure improvements while gaining hands-on experience in construction inspection, surveying, materials testing, and project delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Perform roadway and structural construction inspections.
  • Support engineers and senior inspection staff with construction oversight activities.
  • Conduct material sampling, testing, and documentation.
  • Collect, analyze, and process field data.
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist with survey activities, measurements, and project estimates.
  • Monitor construction traffic control and site safety practices.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in construction inspection, transportation engineering, roadway construction, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience reading construction plans, specifications, and maintaining accurate project records.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and construction documentation processes.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required construction materials testing certifications.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work occasional nights, weekends, holidays, or extended hours as project needs require.
  • Safety-focused mindset and commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to perform field activities associated with construction inspection and surveying.
