An established, family-owned electrical contractor is seeking a senior industry leader to support its next stage of growth and succession.
The company generates $75M+ in annual revenue and employs approximately 400 people across Massachusetts, Connecticut and the wider Northeast, alongside select national projects.
The successful candidate will initially work alongside ownership and the existing leadership team, with the intention of transitioning into the CEO position within approximately 12 months. The initial title could be COO, General Manager, Vice President or another senior executive position, depending on experience.
The Opportunity
The incoming executive will take responsibility for:
- Operations and project delivery across major electrical projects.
- Business development and client relationships throughout New England.
- Oversight of estimating, preconstruction and financial performance.
- Developing the company's growth strategy and leadership structure.
- Mentoring existing employees and the next generation of family leadership.
- Preserving the company's culture throughout the leadership transition.
About the Business
The company is an open-shop, low and medium-voltage electrical contractor with an established presence across Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Its portfolio includes healthcare, life sciences, hospitality, multifamily, clean rooms, cogeneration, logistics and automated facilities. The business has particular expertise in large-scale robotics and distribution projects, with individual electrical packages reaching approximately $15M.
Who They're Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Senior leadership experience with an electrical subcontractor, at VP, GM, COO, President or C-Suite level.
- Strong knowledge of the Massachusetts and New England electrical construction market.
- Experience overseeing operations, estimating, business development and financial performance.
- Relationships with key GCs and customers throughout New England.
- Strong commercial, technical and people leadership skills.
- Ideally, previous field experience within electrical construction.
- A track record of developing teams and delivering sustainable growth.
