Mid-Level Electrical Engineer (Power)
Location: Orlando, FL
A nationally recognized engineering consulting firm is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of power systems for critical infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex facilities that serve public utilities and essential services while collaborating with a highly experienced multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical power systems for industrial and infrastructure projects.
- Perform load calculations, voltage drop, short circuit, and power quality analyses.
- Develop conduit routing, motor control center (MCC), switchgear, and distribution system designs.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
- Participate in field investigations, site visits, and startup/commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 4+ years of experience in electrical power system design.
- Experience with short circuit, voltage drop, harmonic distortion, and power factor calculations.
- Strong understanding of NEC and applicable industry codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience supporting utility, water/wastewater, industrial, or other critical infrastructure projects.
