Engineering Assistant
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail‑focused Engineering Assistant to support the engineering team with hands-on tasks involving panel assembly, inventory control, and site preparation. This role includes building electrical or control panels based on technical specifications, maintaining accurate inventory of materials and tools, and preparing site boxes with equipment needed for field installations. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, and able to follow technical instructions with accuracy and consistency.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with panel fabrication, including wiring, component mounting, and proper labeling
- Monitor inventory levels and restock materials as needed
- Organize, prepare, and pack site boxes with the required tools, hardware, and documentation for field teams
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area
- Provide general support to engineers on various tasks as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
- Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities
- Capable of working independently and following technical drawings or written instructions
Education
- High school diploma required
- Some college, an associate degree, or a bachelor's degree is preferred
Experience Required
- Prior experience working in a shop, warehouse, or similar hands-on environment
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Work is primarily performed in an office or shop environment
- Must be able to occasionally lift items up to 20 pounds
