Controls Engineer - High Travel (Up to 75%)

Location: Remote with extensive travel across project sites
Travel Requirement: Up to 75%
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Controls Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. This role involves extensive travel to client sites to commission, integrate, and support building automation systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara and a strong background in integrating third-party DDC systems such as Distech, Metasys, and others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on-site commissioning and integration of building automation systems using Tridium Niagara.
  • Interface and integrate third-party DDC systems including Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, and others.
  • Develop and configure Niagara front-end graphics, logic, and control sequences.
  • Perform system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Document system architecture, integration points, and commissioning reports.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in building automation or controls engineering.
  • Proficiency in Tridium Niagara AX/N4 platform.
  • Experience integrating third-party systems (BACnet, Modbus, LON).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel independently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Niagara Certification (AX/N4).
  • Experience with Distech EC-Net, Johnson Controls Metasys, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and IP-based systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
