Hyperscale Data Center Construction Project Manager - Travel
Project Manager - Data Center Construction
Location: Haskell, TX
I'm working on behalf of an established, employee-owned general contractor that is building a new mission critical division around a major hyperscale data center campus in Haskell, Texas.
They are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in ground-up and core-and-shell construction. Although this is a data center project, the position is not heavily MEP-focused. The priority is finding a well-rounded builder who can manage major civil, concrete, structural steel, building envelope, roofing, and architectural packages from procurement through final closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned construction packages from buyout and subcontract award through field execution, turnover, and closeout
- Oversee subcontractor performance, procurement, cost forecasting, change orders, pay applications, RFIs, and submittals
- Partner closely with the Superintendent to maintain schedule, safety, quality, and field productivity
- Coordinate civil, structural, architectural, and building envelope scopes with the wider project and MEP teams
- Identify design, procurement, cost, and schedule risks before they impact construction
- Lead subcontractor meetings and hold trade partners accountable for manpower, material deliveries, quality, and production
- Maintain clear communication with ownership, design teams, trade partners, and senior project leadership
- Support project reporting, look-ahead planning, schedule updates, and commercial documentation
Ideal Background
- 7+ years of commercial construction experience, ideally with a general contractor
- Previous experience delivering large ground-up construction projects
- Strong knowledge of civil, concrete, structural steel, roofing, building envelope, and architectural scopes
- Experience managing project budgets, subcontractors, schedules, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Data center or mission critical experience is preferred but not essential
- Candidates from advanced manufacturing, healthcare, industrial, aviation, or other technically complex projects will also be considered
- Strong leadership, communication, and commercial management skills
- Willingness to work on site in Haskell, Texas
The position offers a competitive base salary, bonus potential, comprehensive benefits, and a substantial per diem and travel package.
This is a long-term opportunity to join at the beginning of a growing mission critical platform, work directly with experienced construction leadership, and help deliver a major hyperscale campus with further career progression beyond the initial project.
