The Team

Based in Orange County, this drainage engineering group plays a key role in delivering drainage, stormwater, and hydraulic design solutions for transportation and public infrastructure projects. The team collaborates closely with roadway, structures, and public works professionals, creating a highly collaborative environment where engineers have direct input on project delivery and technical decision-making.

You'll have exposure to:

  • Highway and roadway drainage systems
  • Storm drain networks, culverts, channels, and ditches
  • Retention and detention basin design
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis
  • Public agency and transportation infrastructure projects
  • Multidisciplinary project delivery teams

The Opportunity

As a Drainage Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for the analysis, design, and delivery of drainage infrastructure projects from concept through final design.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
  • Preparing drainage reports, plans, specifications, and estimates
  • Leading final design efforts and QA/QC reviews
  • Coordinating with roadway and other engineering disciplines
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Supporting client relationships and agency coordination
  • Reviewing constructability and design compliance requirements

What They're Looking For

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field
  • PE license (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)
  • 3+ years of drainage design experience
  • Experience with transportation or public works drainage projects
  • Knowledge of MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with hydraulic/hydrologic software such as HEC-RAS, HY-8, SWMM, StormCAD, FLO-2D, or similar tools is highly desirable
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
