About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for 24/7 operations across multiple facilities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support business growth and service excellence.
- Ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical infrastructure and support systems.
- Lead incident response, risk management, business continuity, and operational resilience programmes.
- Establish and maintain operational procedures, standards, and performance metrics.
- Oversee maintenance programmes and drive improvements in reliability and efficiency.
- Manage operational readiness and handover activities for new facilities and expansion projects.
- Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders, ensuring service expectations are met.
- Lead, mentor, and develop operational and engineering teams to build long-term capability.
- Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Manage external service providers and ensure vendor performance aligns with operational requirements.
- Oversee operational budgets, resource planning, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and governance requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience leading operations within critical infrastructure, industrial, utilities, telecommunications, technology, or other high-availability environments.
- Proven track record managing large technical teams and complex operational environments.
- Experience overseeing round-the-clock operations with a strong focus on reliability and service delivery.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, or facility infrastructure systems.
- Experience in incident management, risk assessment, business continuity, and operational planning.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, customers, contractors, and service providers.
- Strong commercial awareness, budgeting, and resource management skills.
- Experience supporting facility expansions, operational readiness, or major project transitions is advantageous.
