Manager/Director of Development
Our client is an Independent Power Producer that develops, owns, operates renewable energy and traditional power generation assets across the US. Currently they are looking to add to their Project Development team, at either the Manager or Director level, reporting to their VP of Development and working out of their Boston headquarters.
This position will be focused on thermal generation projects, from inception to construction hand-off. You will also be evaluating acquisition opportunities and performing due diligence on these sites, in addition to advancing projects through further stages such as permitting and regulatory approval, community engagement, financial close, commercial agreements.
Ideal candidate criteria includes:
- Experience in utility-scale renewable or thermal generation space (no prior experience in thermal development is not a deal breaker, so long as there's an interest/passion for learning this space and diving into complex projects, translating your existing project development skill-sets from current technology focus).
- 5+ years of project development/management experience for the Manager level, additional years to be considered Director level although this will be determined by hiring manager (case by case).
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and evaluating acquisition opportunities and negotiating site agreements.
- Ability to coordinate activities with project engineering, finance, legal, and construction teams.
- Ability to oversee political, government, regulatory, and community engagement/public relations.
