About the Opportunity

A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a Municipal Transportation Project Manager to lead roadway and transportation infrastructure projects for municipal clients throughout North Texas. This position offers the opportunity to manage impactful community projects, build strong client relationships, and play a key role in the growth of a respected transportation practice.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering municipal transportation projects, working directly with city staff and local agencies, and leading multidisciplinary teams from project kickoff through construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage municipal transportation projects including roadway improvements, intersection enhancements, multimodal facilities, traffic operations, and corridor studies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, city engineers, public works departments, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and overall project execution.
  • Oversee roadway design, utility coordination, drainage coordination, traffic control plans, and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate with transportation, traffic, survey, drainage, and utility design teams.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Attend and lead client meetings, city council meetings, public workshops, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support staff development initiatives.
  • Assist with business development, proposal preparation, and client relationship management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with municipal standards and requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
  • 8+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Experience managing municipal transportation projects for cities and local agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of roadway design, transportation infrastructure, and municipal project delivery.
  • Experience overseeing project budgets, schedules, scopes, and client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with municipalities throughout the DFW region.
  • Experience with Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects.
  • Familiarity with municipal design standards, permitting processes, and transportation funding programs.
  • Experience leading proposal efforts and supporting business development activities.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop engineering staff.
