Program Construction Manager
An industry-leading engineering and construction consultancy specializing in mission-critical facilities is seeking an experienced Program Construction Manager to oversee large-scale data center and infrastructure construction programs across the United States.
This role is responsible for leading multiple project teams, ensuring consistent delivery standards, maintaining quality and safety compliance, managing budgets and resources, and acting as the primary liaison between stakeholders and project delivery teams.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering hyperscale data center, mission-critical, or large infrastructure projects and be comfortable managing complex programs across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Lead and mentor multiple Construction Managers across a portfolio of projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
- Standardize reporting, documentation, and project controls across all sites.
- Monitor labor utilization, forecasting, and project expenses.
- Coordinate resources and staffing requirements across projects.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program-level stakeholders.
- Provide strategic guidance on project execution, risk mitigation, and program performance.
- Deliver executive-level reporting and presentations.
- Build strong relationships with key project stakeholders.
Quality, Safety & Risk
- Drive a strong safety culture across all project sites.
- Ensure compliance with construction quality standards and industry regulations.
- Identify and mitigate program-level risks.
- Support contingency planning and issue resolution.
Process Improvement
- Implement best practices, workflows, and reporting tools across the program.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support digital project delivery and data-driven decision making.
- Capture and share lessons learned across projects.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and develop Construction Managers and project teams.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Support workforce planning and future resource requirements.
Business Growth
- Support new business pursuits, proposals, and client presentations.
- Identify opportunities for program expansion and operational improvements.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to support strategic growth initiatives.
Technology & Innovation
- Champion the use of digital construction platforms, analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
- Improve reporting accuracy, forecasting, workflow automation, and project controls.
- Promote innovation and technology adoption across project teams.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in construction management, program management, or mission-critical infrastructure delivery.
- Proven experience managing large-scale data center, hyperscale, or mission-critical projects.
- Experience leading multiple project teams across various locations.
- Strong track record managing budgets, schedules, risk, and stakeholder relationships.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of:
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical systems
- Controls systems
- Construction methods and project delivery processes
- Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and LOTO procedures.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore and Microsoft Office Suite.
Leadership Skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence project teams and executive stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
- Experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) and/or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) certification preferred.
Travel
- 75-100% travel across the United States.
- Must be located near a major airport.
- Ability to relocate for long-term projects if required.
- Valid driver's license required.
