Project Leader 1 (Telecommunications)
Position Summary:
We're looking for a seasoned project manager to support automation-focused initiatives within a dynamic engineering environment. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of complex technical projects involving automation and control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide automation projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and schedule.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define goals, deliverables, and technical requirements.
- Build detailed execution plans and monitor progress, proactively addressing risks and changes.
- Lead engineers and technical staff, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Maintain strong client engagement, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring satisfaction.
- Oversee quality assurance efforts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and resource allocation to optimize project outcomes.
- Provide technical oversight on systems such as switchgear, metering, MCCs, and power distribution.
- Travel to project sites as needed (approx. 25%) for meetings and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 7-9 years of experience, or Master's with 5-7 years.
- Solid understanding of automation systems and related technologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling tools.
- PMP or CAP certification preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Must be eligible for government security clearance.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements:
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for keyboard and mouse use.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret technical documents and solve problems logically.
- Willingness to attend in-person meetings and travel as needed.
