Commercial Executive for Industrial Water Treatment

Salary: $130,000 - $175,000

This role is with a global chemical distributor and manufacturer. It's a remote, customer-facing role is responsible for growing a territory through a combination of account management, application support, and business development activities within industrial process markets. The successful candidate will work closely with existing customers to improve operational performance, identify new applications, and expand product usage while maintaining strong long-term relationships. The position combines commercial responsibility with hands-on technical involvement, requiring regular interaction with plant personnel, operations teams, and decision-makers. Candidates should be comfortable managing a territory independently, forecasting opportunities, and collaborating with internal technical and service teams to deliver results. Travel throughout the assigned region is expected, with significant field time spent supporting customer operations and pursuing growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Grow revenue within existing accounts through cross-selling, application expansion, pricing initiatives, and identification of new opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with operations, procurement, maintenance, engineering, and management teams to strengthen account penetration and customer retention.
  • Monitor chemical treatment programs, troubleshoot process issues, conduct testing, and ensure customer systems are performing effectively.
  • Manage sales forecasting, pipeline activity, receivables, profitability targets, and overall territory performance.
  • Partner with laboratory, technical, supply chain, customer service, and field teams to deliver solutions and support customer objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience supporting or selling industrial chemical programs, process solutions, water treatment technologies, or similar industrial products.
  • Understanding of industrial manufacturing environments and plant operations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work directly with customers at multiple organizational levels.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, up to approximately 55%.
