About the Role
We are partnering with a growing systems integrator that is looking to add a Senior SCADA Engineer to its Mission Critical team. This role will focus on the design, development, and deployment of SCADA solutions for data centers and other high-availability critical infrastructure environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, leading projects, and delivering modern SCADA architectures using Ignition Perspective.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement SCADA solutions for mission critical and industrial automation projects
- Configure and develop Ignition applications, including Perspective, Vision, and associated modules
- Develop SCADA architectures, HMIs, alarming strategies, historian implementations, and reporting solutions
- Integrate PLCs, RTUs, power monitoring systems, and third-party devices into SCADA environments
- Support the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, programming, testing, commissioning, and startup
- Lead technical discussions with customers and provide engineering guidance throughout project execution
- Develop and maintain project documentation, functional design specifications, and test procedures
- Troubleshoot complex automation and SCADA issues both remotely and onsite
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices within the organization
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project managers, and customer stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
- 7+ years of SCADA engineering experience within a systems integrator, engineering services, or industrial automation environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Ignition, particularly Perspective
- Experience designing and deploying enterprise-level SCADA systems
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, MQTT, BACnet, and Ethernet/IP
- Experience integrating PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar
- Familiarity with SQL databases, historians, reporting tools, and network architecture
- Strong troubleshooting, customer-facing, and communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50%
Preferred Experience
- Data center, power generation, power distribution, critical infrastructure, or mission critical facility experience
- Experience with MQTT and Sparkplug architectures
- Exposure to virtualization platforms, cybersecurity standards, and industrial networking
- Ignition Gold Certification or equivalent certifications
